Many years ago as a young fellow of 19 I developed a serious interest in all things aviation. For the next 25+ years I visited airshows, air museums, derelict old airfields and just about anything else related to aviation.
Although my main interest now lies in heritage railways I still main an aeronautical interest in particular attending the Shuttleworth Collection airshows and visiting old airfields of the US 8th Air Force and of our own RAF Bomber Command.
